FAQs
WHAT EXTENSION METHOD IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
It really depends on your hair texture and how available you are to come in for maintenance. There are three main applications:
Individual Beads: These are the most “invisible” type and can be worn up with the least fuss. The re-application is typically 6-12 weeks.
Tracks: These can be done in different ways. These are the thickest and generally done on medium to thicker natural textures that can withhold the weight of the track.
Skin wefts: These need the most frequent maintenance and mimic the natural fall of the hair. To just fill in thickness or add a little length they can look flawless.
ARE EXTENSIONS BAD FOR YOUR HAIR?
A myth around extensions is that they will damage or add extra wear and tear to your own hair and THAT is usually due to poor application, uneducated home maintenance and bad choices of home care products.
Extensions can easily solve many hair issues including lack of thickness, length, color, texture, and improve styling that might be an issue for you.
Damage to your hair is usually due to poor extension application, uneducated home maintenance and improper use of home care products. If your hair is already compromised, extensions cannot repair your hair. If you’re not sure if you’re a good candidate for hair extensions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Amanda via email to inquire.
SPRUCING UP YOUR HAIR AND EXPERIMENTING
A great way of using extensions is to ‘try out’ highlights, low lights, ombre, and other pops of color. If you’re a color-commitment-phobe and or just want to stay away from harsh chemicals, extensions are a great way to add a beautiful pop of color without impacting your hair in the long-term. Clients with fickle textures or less hair than they would like can add a texture that is thicker, holds your desired style, or has no frizz.
ARE EXTENSIONS A LOT OF WORK?
Though the installation can take some time, many people find that having extensions makes their daily hair routine much quicker and easier, as you can be closer to near-perfect hair at all times with minimal effort. You won’t need to spend hours “doing” your hair once extensions are in. So not only does the hair look good in less time, it’s also less damaging than daily heat styling.
CAN I SWIM WITH EXTENSIONS?
Both salt and chlorine can have a negative effect on extensions, causing them to become knotted or matted. But that doesn’t mean these activities are off-limits. You’ll want to either braid your hair or use a swim cap to protect your extensions from damage.
CAN I WORK OUT WITH EXTENSIONS?
Working out with extensions is just fine. However, like salt from the ocean, the salt in your sweat can be damaging so be sure to tie your hair back when working out to avoid damage.
